Calgary: Gold for U19AA Blade at Esso Golden Ring

January 17-19 — Both of our U19AA teams Strike and Blade competed in front of their hometown fans in a field of five teams that was deep in talent from across Western Canada. The frigid -30C weather couldn’t get in their way. Both teams dug deep and qualified for the semi-finals. Blade made it through and won Gold in OT after a nail-biting back and forth game vs. Spruce Grove.

Lacombe/Red Deer: Gold & Silver for U19AA Blade & Strike at the Erika Driesen Memorial

December 13-15 — At this holiday-infused tournament (formerly the Central AB Ice Breaker), our two U19AA teams Blade and Strike found snowy weather, down-home competition and Christmas dinner served out of crockpots. With seven teams rounding out their division, it all came down to a sister-team medal finale. Blade won Gold and Strike claimed Silver. Way to go!

Langley, BC: Gold & Silver for U19AA Strike & Blade at Michelle Vandale Spirit of Winter Tournament

Nov 28-Dec 1 — On a jet plane out west: This tournament ran alongside the 2019 WRCs, and our U19AA Strike and Blade attended with five teams in their division. Bringing it down to a sister-team, medal-game battle, congrats to Strike for winning Gold and Blade for claiming Silver. In between games, there was enthusiastic cheering for Team Canada at the 2019 WRCs. Juniors won Gold, and the Seniors claimed Silver against exceptional Finland teams. An exciting world-class ringette event weekend, and proud outcome.

Regina, SK: Gold & Silver for U19AA Blade and Strike at Elite AA

Nov 1-3 — On the road and on the team bus, taking their game to the open skies of Saskatchewan for the first major tournament of the season. With five teams in the U19AA division, sister-teams Blade and Strike landed in the Gold Medal match. Back and forth until the last minute on the clock, Blade came out with Gold and Strike claimed Silver. Amazing battle, fast ringette. Congrats to both teams for a great tournament!
