Crew wins Silver
Feb 9-11 - U19AA Combat travelled to south western Ontario to compete in the annual Guelph Ringette Tournament. Combat cruised through round robin play with three wins and a tie, securing second position and a spot in the Sunday semi-finals. In the semi's, Combat edged a talented New Brunswick team 5-4 to earn a spot in the final. In the other semi, Rive Sud put on a defensive clinic, holding Zone 2 to just one goal in a 3-1 victory. The final was a rematch from the Golden Ring final a few weeks back. Rive Sud jumped out to an earl lead in the first and held on until the dying seconds of the fourth quarter when a charging Combat tied the game to force overtime. In the extra frame, Rive Sud stuck first to break the tie and earn themselves the Gold with Combat taking the Silver.
U19AA Combat wins Silver
Feb 2-4 - U19AA Crew travelled to the "Big Smoke" to compete in the annual Richmond Hill Tournament. Crew battled hard through pool play, earning top spot heading into the Sunday semi finals. In the semi's, Crew outlasted a strong team from Laurentides to earn a spot in the final. In the other semi, West Ottawa booked their spot in the final beating the host team from Richmond Hill. In the final, Crew jumped out to an early lead however West Ottawa battled back to tie the game and force overtime. In OT, Crew had numerous chances to win the game but could not beat the fine play of the West Ottawa goaltender. On their counter attack, West Ottawa was able to break the tie earning them the Gold with Crew taking Silver.
Jan 19-21 - U19AA Crew and Combat welcomed teams from across Canada to Calgary for the 38th Annual Esso Golden Ring Tournament. Crew battle hard through pool play but lost two close games against New Brunswick and Zone 2 ending their tournament run. In the other pool, Combat cruised through round robin play, taking the top seed, and setting up a semi final against Sherwood Park. In the semi's, Combat dispatched of Sherwood park in a penalty filled game. In the second semi, Rive Sud battled back from a three goal deficit to knock out New Brunswick, setting up a rematch between Combat and Rive Sud for the gold. In the final, Combat played a solid two way game, proving to be the better team on the day, and skating away with the Gold.
U19AA Combat wins Gold
Dec 1-3 — U19AA Crew and Combat, headed north to Leduc to do battle in the annual Edmonton Wood tournament. Both teams fought hard through intense pool play with each finishing first in their respective pools. Crew won a hard fought and penalty filled semi-final game against Sherwood Park to punch their ticket into the final while Combat cruised to victory in their semi-final game against Edmonton. The final was a tight checking affair with numerous game saving stops by both goalies. In the end, Crew edged their sister team by a goal earning them the Gold while Combat took home the Silver.
