2023 - 2024 Championships


Provincial Championships

In the U14AA division U14AA Red, Blue, and White battled it out for provincial bragging rights.  All three teams met stiff competition through round robin play with only Blue making it into the semi-finals on Sunday.   On Sunday, Blue lost a close battle with Central Alberta sending them to the Bronze medal game.  In the Bronze medal match, Blue took care of business earning them a provincial medal and a spot in the Western Canadian Championships.

U16AA Strike, Attack, and Peak travelled to St Albert to battle for Provincial hardware and a spot in the National Championships.  All three teams faced tough competition in round robin play with all three teams earning a spot in semi-finals on Sunday.   In the morning game Strike beat out Zone2 to earn a spot in the final.   In the second semi final, Attack outlasted Peak in a tight battle to earn the second spot in the final.    In the Bronze medal game, Peak battled hard against Zone 2 but came up a few goals short finishing fourth in the tournament.  In the final, Strike came out strong and never looked back winning Gold while Attack settled for Silver.   All three teams qualified for Nationals with Strike earning the right to go as Team Alberta. 

U19AA Combat and Crew travelled to Leduc, Alberta to compete for medals and a spot at Nationals.  Friday and Saturday games saw strong competition with Combat and Crew finishing first and second heading into the Sunday morning semi-finals.  In the first semi-final,  Crew won a nail biter against Zone 2 to earn a birth in the final.   In the second semi-final, Combat won a tough battle against St Albert setting up a final against Crew.    The final was a penalty filled affair with teams short handed the majority of the game.  In the end, Combat came out on top to win Gold while Crew settled for Silver.   Both teams qualified for Nationals in New Brunswick with Combat taking the honour of going as Team Alberta.

Canadian National Ringette Championships

 49 teams and over 1000 athletes from U16AA, U19AA, and NRL teams from across the country travelled east to Moncton, NB to complete in the Canadian National Ringette Championships.   

In the U16AA Division,  Team Alberta (Strike), Attack and Peak battled hard through round robin play earning them each a spot in the Championship round.   In the play-in game, Attack left no doubt with a solid win over Team Saskatchewan to book a spot in the quarter-finals against their sister team Strike.  In the quarter finals, Strike played a solid game to knock out Attack while in another quarter final game, Peak won a close game against the host team from New Brunswick.  In the first semi final, Peak came up short against a tough Cyclones de Quebec team.  In the other semi final, Strike beat out Zone 2 to earn a spot in the final.  The Saturday final was a tight checking, low scoring battle with the Cyclones de Quebec edging out Strike by a goal to win the National Championship with Strike earning Silver.  Congratulations to all three teams on an outstanding year.

In the U19AA Division, Team Alberta (Combat) and Crew played strong in round robin pool play earning them both a spot in the Championship round.   In the quarter-finals, both Combat and Crew needed overtime wins against Team Manitoba and Team Quebec to earn spots in the Friday semi-finals.  In the first semi, Crew came up short against a determined Team New Brunswick sending them to the bronze medal game.   In the second semi, Combat shutout Zone2 to earn a chance at the National title.   In the Saturday morning Bronze medal game,  Zone 2 proved to be the better team on the day edging out Crew to take the Bronze medal.  In the championship game, Combat shut down a high octane Team New Brunswick with a 3-0 victory to win the Gold and take the National Championship title.  Congratulations to both teams for an outstanding year.
